A graduate of Stanford and
Harvard Universities, Day has
been a member and chairman of
the Parks and Recreation Advisory
Commission since 1981, and of the
Advisory Planning Commission
since 1984,

In 1975 he was named chairman
of an ad hoc commission to study
the consequences of growth in
West Vancouver.

Day has also served as president
of the Citizens’ Planning Forum,
and vice-president of the West
Vancouver Electors’ Association.

Day has been active as a coach
and coordinator of Littke League
Baseball and Minor Hockey.
