THE WHOLE town seemed to be buzzing about Margaret Ashley last week. Some 23 years ago this charming dynamo arrived in Vancouver and the city hasn’t been the same since. In her awn fearless inimitable way Margaret has, at one time or another, bulldozed most of Van- couver’s Top 400 into contributing to “her”? charities like Ballet B.C., the Vancouver Opera and the Vancouver Symphony. Her legion of supporters is im- pressive. As the new leader of the B.C. Liberal Party and the mayor of Vancouver, Gordon Campbell, put it, “She is one of the finest com- munity volunteers,’’ while Lt.- Gov. First show of the season is the Judy Holliday comedy hit Born Yesterday which opens their 31st season on Saturday, Sept. 25.
