The charge stemmed front a Feb.
9, 1993. incident in West
Vancouver.

Wihnon was required to pay a
$10 victim surcharge.

Paine House
development
downsized

NORTH VANCOUVER City
Council voted Monday to further
amend an application to develop
Paine House. a heritage building
located at 217 East Keith Rd.

The amendment includes a
downsizing of the development to
include three rather than four
dwelling units.

The change is a result of coun-
cil’s ongoing concerns with densi-
ty. The move comes on the heels of
the planning department's recom-
mendation that the basement of the
site be renovated to make up a
fourth suite to prevent the possibili-
ty of an ifegal suite on the site in
the future.

Coun. Stella Jo Dean spoke out
against the renovation which would
have included the raising of the
house lo aecommodate an cight-
foot ceiling in the proposed biase-
ment suite.

Meanwhile. Laura Howard. whe
fives next to the proposed des clop-
ment site, did not understand why
council was considering the devel-
opment in the first place.

“Pdont see why there hay to be
development in every inch of every
