The reason we chose a Brecht play is to service the college’s need.”’ Not only will The Caucasian Chalk Circle serve as one of a range of plays, it will give litera- classic in NV ture students a chance to sce one of Brecht's works on stage. Since January, the 16-member cast has been busy rehearsing three times a week. ‘‘Because (the pro- duction) is in the context of a course and because some of the people have part-time jobs we don't rehearse every night,’' said Murdoch. But in keeping with the goal of introducing students to the theatre, the total rehearsal time is just about equal to that of an actual touring production. “It very much approximates the three-week period that profes- sionals use.’” The play is set to run March 19 to 21 and 24 to 28. Tickets are $7 for adults, $6 for students and senior citizens. Curtain time is at 8 p.m. each night. Vouchers for $1 off the admis- sion price are available at the col- lege’s Humanities box office.
