NEWS photo submitted A TOUCH of Brass will be playing carols and Christmas music at North Vancouver's Centennial Theatre Dec. 22 at 7:30 p.m. CHRIST CHURCH CHOIR Christmas season music featured THE CHOIR of Christ Church Cathedral in Vancouver will pres- ent Music for Christmas Dec. 19, featuring both traditional and new works. The concert includes the first performance of the Magnificat by John Burge, in which tne choir will be joined by mezzo-soprane Margarita Noye. Burge is at pres- ent studying composition at UBC and is a member of the cathedral choir, Also featured in this concert will be the music of Leighton, Vaughan Williams, Howells, Britten and other composers. There will be Christmas readings and the au- dience will also be invited to share in the Christmas spirit by joining in the singing of some of the bet- ter-known seasonal carols. Coffee and mince pies will be served after the concert. Music for Christmas will be presented on Dec. 19 at 8 p.m. in Christ. Church Cathedral at 690 Burrard St. in Vancouver. This festival of music from around the world and through the ages will take place at North Van- couver’s Centennial Theatre Dec. 22 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for children and seniors. They are available at all VTC/CBO outlets, the North Shors Neighborhood House, and at the door. A Touch of Brass originated in North Vancouver and has become well known throughout Canada and the United States since 1979. The quintet records frequently for the CBC and recently released their second record album. In 1988, A Touch of Brass will be touring Europe with stops in Great Britain and Russia.
