TEAMS OF eight runners will leave from Park Royal Mall
Dec. 20 and run around Ambleside Park to help raise
money for two North Shore Christmas charities.

Run organizer Sue Hills explains
that the teams — seven so far —
each have a corporate backer that
put up $400 to sponsor the team.
Each of the team’s eight runners
also puts in $10 and all of the
money is donated to charity.

So far, Hills has confirmation

from seven teams. ‘I’m still
negotiating and I’m confident I'll
have cight,’’ she says of the relay
run.

sack. Shoppers buy 10 tickets for
$10 and get 10 chances.

For each ticket they reach into
Santa’s bag. If they pull out a
numbered ticket they get the cor-
responding prize. A blank ticket
means try again.

“They might pull out 10 tickets
that are blank or they might get
three prizes,’’ Hills explains, ad-
ding the prizes are donated by area
merchants.

This year’s run participants are:
Sunshine Cabs, Superstar Athletic
Footwear, Intrawest Properties,
Sutton Realty, Bell Realty,
Western Realty and Earl’s Tin
Palace.

Again this year, Earl’s will host
post-run festivities for the partici-
pants and their guests. Hills ex-
pects the runners to be enjoying
themselves by 1:30 p.m.

In the past four years of the run,
over $4,000 has been raised an-
uuaily for charity. The West Van-
couver Santa Claus Fund and the
North Vancouver Christmas
