Library
gets book
catalogue
at last

SEYCOVE Library has a
catalogue.at last!

Because card catalogues
are bulky and very expensive
to reproduce, the Seycove
(formerly Deep Cove)
Branch of North Vancouver
District Library has never
had a_ catalogue of the
public’s library's books.

However, since the
beginning of this year the
library has been cataloguing
its new books by computer,
and now a computer
produced catalogue on

microfiche of these books is_

ayailable in all three
branches.

Each sheet of microfiche
contains as much = in-
formation as can be put on
5,000 catalogue cards.

Future plans for the
library call for the total
conversion of the card
catalogue to microfiche
form.

MOST people who had
bonfires going in West
Vancouver last weekend
appeared unaware that such
activities are now illegal
even in one of the last
bastions of outdoor burning,
a fire department spokesman
said.
