By UNITED PRESS CANADA Levesque wins major support MONTREAL - Premier Rene Levesque’s leader- ship has been solidly en- dorsed by Parti Quebecois members in what PQ officials said Tuesday was a “miracle” vote by 50 per cent of the membership on key policy issues. With half the 292,000 PQ members voting, 95 per cent backed Leves- que’s position on three issues of the party's strategy for in- dependence, 3.5 per cent voted against and 1.5 per cent spoiled their ballots. “It's a miracle,” said party executive Robert Dean. “Getting a SO per cent return is absolutely fantastic.” “You can't name one party in the western world that could obtain such support so openly.” PQ vice president Sylvain Simard said.
