Flutist wins competition EIGHTEEN-YEAR-OLD North Vancouver flutist Joanna G'froerer has won first prize in the wind and brass division of the Montreal Symphony Orchestra’s national competition, Concours OSM. G’froerer. currently enrolled in first year at McGill University, was awarded $1,500 and will per- form a solo concert with the Montreal Symphony Orchestra in March at the Place des Arts.
