Nun-sense flick measures up to Some Like it Hot

aren't cut out for a life
of crime.

Take Brian Hope (Eric tdle) and
Charlie McManus (Robbie Col-
trane), for example. They bemoan
the lousy benefits of their bank
job. They dislike having to handle
guns. And the violence that has
come along with the new breed of
criminal ...well. If it weren't for the
fact that the mob recognizes only
one kind of retirement, they would
have headed for Rio.

too, considering the number of
obstacles her near-sighted charac-

Even thaugh Some Like it Hot is
the yardstick against which all
men-in-drag films must be
measured, this nun-sense gives it a
run for its money.

Heaven Can Wait **** (CBS/Fox
Heme Video) Unrated

This is not the Warren Beatty
1978 remake of Here Comes Mr.
Jordan. This is the 1943 Ernst
Lubitsch film.

Don Ameche plays a man who
has gone to hell. Standing before
the sympathetic Mr. Scratch (Laird
Cregar), he gives a full account of
his earthly existence. He thinks
that his life (‘one ¢ ontinuous
mischief’) can only nave one
afterlife but the devil's not too
sure.

Ameche's scandalous affairs start
in the 1860s when he was born,

through to his recent demise, all

told tn delightful droll anecdotes.
Ameche is utterly charming.
