By KIM PEMBERTON News Reporter She wanted her young child to enjoy the benefits that children in- teracting with one another receive. The answer for Huffman Coe was preschool; but instead of just enrolling her child in a preschool, Huffman Coe went one step fur- ther — she founded one. ‘When people think of sending their child to preschool they think it’s just play, but it's hidden learn- ing,”’ she said. A couple of years ago they were very low in enrolment, but they’re com- ing up again,”’ he said. He said while preschocl pro- grams may differ, all have to meet the provincial child care require- ment. For instance, at the current time one certified child care supervisor is required for every 15 children and an assistant for up to 20 children. But he noted a change in legislation soon will require one supervisor for every 10 children and two assistants for up to 20 children. Huffman Coe said she would welcome the change, noting three year olds in particular are such an See Preschool FACILITIES & SERVICES EXCLUSIVELY FOR WOMEN * INDIVIDUAL LOCKERS # LIFECYCLE AND FAN BIKES @) * PRIVATE DRESSING BOOTHS * AEROBIC CLASSES @ * NO-BOUNCE AEROBICS ® * CUSHIONED WOOD FLOOR © FREE-WEIGHTS © WHIRLPOOL, @ SAUNA © PRIVATE SHOWERS NEW ADULT PATRONS ONLY * BASED ON 24 MONTHS: . me c .
