Tournament held Feb. 5 to 8 In the competition’s Tween divi- sion finals,, Edmonton defeated Winnipeg’s Bonivital 10-6. Coach Dave Radbourn said he was pleased with. his NSWC Tweens performance. Michelle McCleary and Jessica Campbell led the scoring for the local team. Strong on Tween defence was Nichol Bebrenz, while Schandra Eyton was sharp in goal. In the Tween consolation.round, Calgary defeated Edmonton’s Sherwood Park 8-3... . The NSWC Junior Belles emerged with the second place silver medal after five games in four days, losing 7-2 to Calgary in the finals. Tracy Minions led the Belles of- fence; scoring five of the team’s six goals in one game. Stephani Maki played wellin goal throughout the tournament. . PoCo defeated Langley 6-5, in the Junior Belle consolation game. The NSWC Belle’s won the gold medal “handily, .defeating the Jr. Belle National’s (playing in the Belle level for experience) 8-1 in the fizals. “%vonne Hunter and Vivian Behrenz were outstanding in an overall good team effort. Bonivital slipped by PoCo 3-2 in the Belle consolation match. A highlight of the tournament, which included teams from Win- nipeg, Calgary, Edmonton, PoCo, Langley, Aldergrove and Nor- thwest Vancouver, was the NSWC Belles whipping the BCTV Tubes hockey team 13-5 in exhibition ac- tion.
