You mention that no complaints were reccived by the North Shore Women’s Centre, however, you do not mention if you had asked the RCMP, the Coach House themselves, or the mayor's office. We called them all, as well as yourselves, to complain about it. We can understand that the management is anxious to increase their business, since hiring regular strip shows has seemed to have all but decimated it, they have gone to the extreme in doing it. One of the alleged dancers is quoted as saying, *‘It is not hurting anybody.'’ Well, fortunately, this time she is right. The patrons not only fill up the hotel’s parking lot, they clog up all the streets in the residential neighborhood as well. When they leave, which is as soon as the show is over, they have consumed large amounts of beer in a short period of time, and are hazardous to pedestri- ans, children on bikes, other drivers, drunk and sober, -: This is a side effect that no-one seems to have taken into account. As to whether or not using vegetables as props in a “novelty sex show"’ is decent, well, we have to leave that up to your other readers. One point of view is, if it’s so bad, how come so many people turn up to see it? We must admit, the Coach House has been busier than it has been in years. However, can somebody tell me how many North Shore residents didn’t go to see the show? Mayor Humphreys doesn’t realize he has a recommendation in place now that has an effect on the crows. ! read a sign at city hall that the municipality recommended trees be kept below the height of 35 feet, for whatever reason. [| can’. remember the reason. Lasi fall | had my seven mature cedars lowered again to 30 feet, to be on the safe side, and began enjoying the extra sunlight that came on the property. The real benefit came this spring when the crows came around looking for their uld homesteads. I watched them for a week until they decided conditions were not right. J} continued to watch them going in the taller trees around and they settled on locations about the 40 foot mark, and above. It’s a lovely summer without them and | particularly do not miss the enterprising male crow that regularly pulled out the pink insulation from under the shingles for his nest. The songbirds are back and we have hummingbirds in our hedge (and more cats). The municipality is not completely within the recommendation either because they have mature cedars on city property that are over-height. Let's all get our trees lower this fall.
