The Keg North Shore, 132 West Esplanade, North Van- couver, 984-3534 The cradle of Keg and Cleaver- dom has been Kegless since Feb- ruary 1989, when the Keg Prime Rib closed its doors to make way for the new North Shore Health building. The new restaurant, which will be in the same building as North Shore Health, will have 196 seats {the old Prime Rib had 150) inside and a further 50 outside. Keg officials have said that the Keg North Shore will be state of the art Cleaveresque. The restaurant chain, which was bought out in 1987 by Whitbread, a massiv2 British beer and food conglomerate, has been hiring approximately 130 al! new Keg folk to run the new Keg: waiters, cooks, busboys, managers, hosts and bartenders, The hiring office is at 67 Lons- dale. And while most of the staff have been hired, there are still some vacancies to be filled. So repeat after me, “Welcome to the Keg! My name is------I'll be your waiter tonight!’ Great.
