In 1922, she was second in the long jump. In her teen years, she remembers swimming with friends at the foot of Chesterfield, below the Lower Levels road, where the grain elevators are today. The boys would dive off the railroad tracks at the foot of Chesterfield where the water was deeper. She also played tennis behind St. John’s Anglican Church at the corner of 12th and 13th streets. After finishing school, Alexandrina found employ- ment with BC Tel in Vancouver, where she remained for 18 years. She played on the BC Tel women’s bowling team. She F ravelled to and from work by the ferry, which is - now the Seven Seas floating restaurant at the foot of Lonsdale.
