In fact, he has appeared in The Grear Antiques Hunt, a competitor of the pupular show thar keeps English viewers spellbound as individuals are informed of the value of various items they have found around the house. What he’s referring to is someone who looks and sounds honest, two traits he possesses based on his experi- ence. Gibbs ended up spending three years as an appraiser assistant before he decided to leave London. His nexe gig came in the form of auctionecr. Although he had never done it, Gibbs has been around the business long, cnough to be familiar wich what was required. “You get up and feel this is easy I can do this or I’m never going to do this,” he said adding he is not a great public speaker. Not only did Gibbs find he could do it, he enjoyed it. Then in 1996 he got the call ro the new world. “They (Maynard’s — in Vancouver) couldn’: find an auctioneer who had experi- ence with andques in Western Canada,” said Gibbs, No fish and chips here she directs the fish and chip seckers several doors cast.
