This letter is in response to scheol trustee Douglas Mackay-
. Dunn's letter to the editor on Aug. 6, 1997.

3 agree with Trustee Mackay- -Dunn when he states, “Real
solutions are found through communication, cooperation and
collaboration, not grandstanding.”. Unfortunately, I sce no
communication, cooperation ane collaboration on the part of
the schoal board, and I don’t agree Tim Morrison and Deborah
Kitson’s statements were attempts to grandstand.

As it stands now, the school board has refused an extension

As part of the Local Improvement Initiative (Municipal Act — Section 629) TAKE
NOTICE THAT the Council of The Corporation of the City of North Vancouver proposes to
construct Street Lighting, including all electrical appurtenances for Underground Conversion
of Utilities on East 8th Street between Lonsdale Avenue and St. George’s Avenue.

> PAYFAENT GUIDELINES FOR CONSTRUCTION

1. The total estimated cost of the work is $360,000. 00.

2. The lifetime of the work is 10 years.

3. The share of the total cost which will be specially charged against
the parcels benefiting or abutting from the work is $240,090.00.

4. The City’s share of the cost is estimated to be-$120,600.00.

5. The owners’ portion of the cost of this project shall be an annual
charge of $83.59 for each metre of taxable frontage to be specially .
