annual New Year's Eve

celebration attracted more than
9,500 party-goers to the Van-
couver Trade & Convention Cen-
tre on Sunday night.

It’s the third time he’s held it at
the convention centre and it was
bigger and better than ever.

the paid crowd who were due to
see the new year in at the North
Shore Studios, it went off without
ahitch.

Singer-guitarist Colin James
headed the long list of top-notch
entertainers that included Kim
Mitchell, Allannah Miles, the R&B
AllStars, Blue Rodeo, 54-40 and
Trooper. The youthful James had
fiown in especially for the New
Year's Eve party from Memphis
where he’s recording a new
album, and then flew out again
bright and early the next morn-
ing...

was a very well-dressed and
well-mannered crowd, thanks to a
sizeable security crew who were
very polite but very definite about
where you could or could not

as the coordinator for the Variety

Plans went awry for the North
Shore Studio’s New Year’s Eve
party, but its organizer, Zee
Batal, was in good spirits at the
Vancouver Trade and Convention
Centre.

Ctub’s annual telethon. This year
the Variety Ciub’s telethon takes
place at the Queen Elizabeth
Theatre on Feb. 24 and 25...
