IN CELEBRATION of Father’s
Day, the Lynn Valley Merchants
Association is giving North Shore
car enthusiasts an opportunity to
get up close to Maseratis, Ferraris,
Lotuses, Porsches and a BMW and
IROC-Z race car.

Displays of interest to car buffs

New policy offered

ICBC HAS announced a new ver-
sion of its Underinsured Motorist
Protection (UMP) for non-
motorists who want to protect
themseives in case they are injured
by an uninsured or underinsured
motorist.

Previously, only those with a
valid B.C. driver's license or those
who owned a licensed vehicle could
purchase UMP coverage for
themselves, their spouses and
dependents in their households.

For a premium of $15, the new
policy will provide $1 million
coverage to people injured as pe-
destrians, cyclists or passengers in
a vehicle. Most of those who will
benefit from the extended program
are those who do not have a B.C.
driver’s license, such as senior citi-
zens who live on their own or
young people no longer living at
home.

Details on UMP are available
from any insurance broker in B.C.
who provides ICBC Autoplan ser-
vice.
