To permit construction of a new 3716 m?
(40,000 sq.ft.) production cell line building as
Phase I! of a two-phase expansion and mcder-
nization of the sodium chlorate plant.
Associated plant changes include the con-
struction of: a tank farm, f-roduct silos, cool-
ing towers, back-up power plant, a process
building, brine-making facility and liquid pro-
duct storage tank, which will result in visual
and environmental improvements and
eliminate the outdated eo «pment and the pro-
duction of hazardous v.astes.

The purpose of this public meeting is to acquaint the
property owners and residents in the area with the
specifics of the proposed development and to pro-
vide an opportunity for input or questions from con-
cerned individuals.

Proposed Byiaw No. 83 would amend “The Greater
Vancouver Regional District Subdivision Control
Bylaw No. 270, 1977" by changing the designation
of Part of Block "D", except part in Reference Pian
13711, District Lots 1334 and 1947 Plan 15667,from
the “Y"" Subdivision District to the “W" Subdivision
District. This would allow a parcel of about 2.3 hec-
tares (5.7 acres) to be used for agriculture (donkey
range), in conjunction with the easterly portion of
Parcel C.

Proposed Bylaw No. 80 would amend the “Bowen
Istand Zoning Bylaw No. 36, 1984" by adding as a
permitted use in the Civic and Assembly Institutional
{i-i) Zone “ambulance hall", and applying the zone
to Lot 8,, Block 1, Plan 7806, D.L. 490 on Miller Road
to allow an ambulance station on the site, This Bylaw
is returned to hearing to allow the applicants to ad-
dress the Committee on the issues raised on
February 24, 1989.
