Somerset Green Marketing Pavilion Q. All this must cost the earth! What are the prices? A. People tell us that they consider the prices very reasonable. They presently start at $79,000 for a one bedroom apartment, $94,000 for a two bedroom apartment and $139,000 for a two bedroom and den apartment. Of course, you'll . need to pay more for certain views and the top floor prices are higher as it features nine foot ceil- ings with quite dramatic vaults. Al Jablonka, Sales manager with Linda Maynes, Sales co-ordinator Q. I hear that you are selling already? A. Yes, sales are extremely gratifying. We started to take reservations on January 17th and within 10 days over 25 of the apartments had been reserved with $5,000 deposits. As it seems that Phase | will sell out prior to completion, we plan to advance the construction of Phase Il for completion in 1988. It is probably not a good idea, however, for people interested in buying to wait for Phase II as prices will undoubtedly be higher as construction costs are increasing again after several years of stability. 1 should add that we have a list of over 850 individuals and couples who have indicated an interest in even- tually buying at Somerset Green. Q. Where do these people live? A. Practically without exception they are all North Shore residents, many living within half a dozen blocks of Somerset Green. Q. Is this your company’s first housing development? A. Hardly! The Polygon Group has built over 1200 homes throughout Greater Vancouver in the last five years. On the North Shore we have built a number of luxury condominium projects in West Vancouver, including Waterford House, completed in 1985, and The Summit, completed in 1986. Q. Are you active elsewhere? A. Our Chairman, W.K. Paulus, heads associated companies ‘in the United States in- cluding The Polygon Corporation, which builds extensively throughout the Greater Seattle area, and Homes by Polygon Inc. which is an impor- tant residential developer in southern California - the builder of the fabulous Laguna Sur con- dominiums on a bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean at Laguna Niguel. One of the things we try to do is to share information among the various members of the Polygon Group so it is not surprising if you find some California touches in our homes! Q. What is your next housing development on the North Shore? A. Polygon will be accouncing another dramatic West Vancouver project soon. But as far as 67 - Friday, February 6, 1987 — North Shore News North Vancouver is concerned, while we would like to build on the apparent success of Somerset Green, it’s frankly impossible to replace the Stoker Farm site. That’s why I would imagine Somerset Green residences will probably increase in value for many decades to come. Q. Do you need an appointment to visit Somerset Green? A. I’m afraid that the site isn’t open at the pre- sent time for visits due to our insurance resiric- tions. A construction site cun be a dangerous place. But we do have a fully equipped preview centre open across the road from Somerset Green at 2908 Lonsdale where you can drop in and in- spect the floor plans and chat ‘vith our Sales Manager, Al Jablonka or his assistant; Linda Maynes. An even better idea would be to telephone 986-5953 to make an appointment as the preview centre can get pretty hectic. Construction under way. NI
