Photos promote friendship

THE SEYMOUR-Asumigaoka Friendship Society recently sponsored 2
photo contest for people living or working in North Vancouver. The
contest was based on the theme of West Coast lifestyles. North Van-
couver District Mayor Marilyn Baker presented the winning
photographers with awards at a ceremony recently held at the district
municipal hail. Michael Norris won $150 for the phote (left) entered in
the society non-members age 17 and older category. Kim Myers received
$150 for the photo (far left) she entered in the society members under 17
years of age category. Mary Kalbach picked up a $400 first prize for her
photo (above) entered in the society members 17 years of age and older
category. The society was formed two years ago to recognize the twinning
of the Seymour area of North Vancouver and the Asumigaoka area of -
Chiba City in Japan.
