than expected

SCHOOL ENROLLMENT in the North Van-
couver School District continued to drop this ‘year,
but board staff were delighted that the decline was
not as great as anticipated.

Total enrollment dropped
only 356 students this
September, down to 15,245
from 15,601 last year. The
anticipated decline would
have seen the district’s enroll-
ment at 15,112.

estimate,’’ said Superinten-
dent Leo Marshall.

‘“‘All in all it isn’t a
pessimistic number, actually
it is optimistic,’’ Marshall
said.

private school, Collingwood,
