question. I¢ is an answer to
that young man who is
perplexed over young ladies
habits of giggling, visiting
restrooms together, weight-
consciousness and perpetual
dieting. The answer to your
queries is simple. YOU and
men in general are the
cause. Giggling is a nervous
reaction and in most cases
stems from discussing YOU
and your kind, or coming in
contact with you. It is fun,
but it can prove to be em-
barrassing to either gender
occasionally. Thankfully we
grow out of it, although I am
sure you will miss it with
regret at times.

Now I will clear up the

that this practice didn't
unnerve, and that is one of
the reasons for it. Secondly,
it gives us a chance to
discuss YOU without further
giggling and embarrassment.
We can also assure each
other that we are presen-
table, so as to be pleasing to
you. Lastly it is hard to walk
through a room full of men
by yourself. With a friend,
you can almost ignore the
scrutinizing eyes on you.

We worry about our
weight and that is also on
your account. We women of
today find ourselves in

competition with women —

who are thought of as the
most besutiful on earth,
from Farrah to your

favourite centrefold. We see |

that you idolize these women
and dieting is one way we try
to measure up to your image

of a “perfect 10". It may be _

hard for you to understand,
but believe me, it is infinitely

_ harder for us to go through

it,

guessing that not all the

Humbug to spring

QUESTION: Y6u often have
people write you about their
unhappy feelings about
Christmas. J don't blame
them, but I have another
gripe. It’s spring that bothers
me, Fil scream if I hear one
more person spout sen-
timental hogwash about
“new life emerging” and the
buds symbolizing the
resurrection and so forth.
