I was shocked to hear people from Burnaby and West Vancouver speaking on behalf of rezoning District Property when they are not directly affected by the rezoning ramifications. . These NON residents took so much time speaking that some of us with property adjacent to the site were unable to voice our opinions. I believe our Council, who usually listen to local residents, can see through this sham of a filibuster by the Burrard View and North Vancouver Teachers’ Association. I resent being told what will “improve” my area, especially by those who will not have to pay for it. I do il not want more and faster traffic hurtling past my home. I chose to live in Deep Cove for the rural peace and quiet, being fully aware of available services. Being forced to move because more people think they need more hardly seems fair. Surely they should move to where there is all that they require? J.
