Group wants to build tall ship for Vancouver Wendy-Anne Thompson Contributing Writer BRUCE Gordon wants to carry on with the work of his ances- tors and sail a magnif- icent schooner, So when he heard about a North Shore group's pian to build a tail ship named in honovr of Captain George Vancouver, he was eager to donate his talent as a wood worker to the project. Gordon, a North Vancouver resident, recently discovered he is related to _ Lieut. James Gordon, who sailed Captain James Cook’s Endeavour to the Falkland Islands on a supply mission in the 18th Century. Gordon is curious about his sea-far- ing blood. “It’s part of my heritage. Organizers Susan Rountree and Captain Aiex Brigols admitted there is a lot of hard work to be done but believe there is cnough will in, the community to make the tall ship happen.
