Sun shines as couple wed

THE SUN came oui as bride
Wendy Turner arrived at the
church to marry Cameron Duncan
on Aug. 6.

“It was wonderful,’” mother of
the bride Heather Turner said of
the St. Francis-in-the-Wood wed-
ding.

Father of the bride was Ron
Turner, and the groom is the son
of Robert and the late Beverley
Martin Duncan.

Wendy was attended by her
cousin Debbie Parr as maid of
honor, and the groom’s sister
Susan Duncan. Best man was
Russell Wright, and ushers were
Lawrence Smythe and Matthew
Turner.

A dinner and dance at the West
Vancouver Yacht Club followed
the ceremony.

Wendy moved to West Van-
couver with her family in Grade 7,
while Cameron spent all of his
growing-up years in the
municipality.

.:; Wendy, an underwriter, and
Cam, an electrician, honeymooned
on the Sunshine Coast and now
reside in North Vancouver.

Pair celebrate 50th

GOLDEN ANNIVERSARY wishes are extended to Howard and
Hilda Dardry, who celebrated their 50th on Sept. 1.

The Esquimalt Avenue couple were married in Hucknall, England
in 1938. They emigrated to Ontario in 1969, bringing with them

daughter Gillian, to join their elder daughter Julia.

Julia had met and married-Hans Freitag, whose brother, Walter,
subsequently married Gillian. Julia and Hans, who reside in Cran-
brook, have two children, as do Gillian and Walter, living in
Ladysmith.

* The Dardrys moved to West Vancouver in 1971.

Both daughters were in town for the 50th anniversary celebration.
Between 40 and 50 friends and family came to the buffet held at the
Dardry’s apartment building on Sept. 1. .
