First off, their rehearsal home Arcadian. Hall was destroyed by fire at Christmas- time. The resulting flood hit the company’s storage area, putting at risk costumes, props, electron- ic equipment and archival mate- ‘rials commemorating 15 years in the performing arts. So when Park Royal Shopping Centre agreed to supply the ensemble with a free storefront space in which to rehearse its new interdisciplinary perfor- mance piece, States of Grace, the company felt suddenly blessed. “It's been a godsend,” said artistic director Judith Marcuse. “It's saved our lives.” A board member who had a personal connection with Park , Royal’s administration made the request, and, miraculously, the troupe got the space for the 12 weeks it needed for rehearsals. “t's a very valuable retail space,” Marcuse noted. “They didn't charge us any rent at all.” Transforming a concrete retail [SUNDAY BUFFET | BRUNCH Buy one at the regular price & receive the ¥ second one for only $4.95 10:30 am - 2:30 pm Valid till May 1° ‘94 Must present coupon for 1 DINN N RY U/ Dinss| 4351 Lonsdale, N.
