North Shore athletes bumped and jumped their way to medal- earning results on a_ very tough mogul course in the B.C.-Alberta [{nterprovincial .Freestyle Competition at Blackcomb Mountain recent- ly. The event was held on Da Kine, one of Blackcomb’s steepest mogul runs. Despite the difficult course, North Shore athletes proved they are among the best skiers in Western Canada. Jason Smith, 17, of Lions Bay, won a silver medal in the men's event with a score of 22.76, Gien Mittendorfer, 20, of Deep Cove finished a close third in the men’s event, with a score of 22.75.. Kevan Kobayashi, also from Deep Cove, entered the finals in second position but fell at the end of the course and finish- ed in 19th spot. Kelly Ringstad, 18, of Lynn Valley, won a silver in the women’s moguls . despite .a sprained knee. “‘This was the toughest course I’ve skied all year but I liked it. Now.
