School board shows surplus

‘THE AUDITED financial state-
menis for North Vancouver
District 44 schools for one year
ending June 30 showed a $1 mil-
fion surplus.

The surplus was separate from
money budgeted for teachers’
raises, said school board secre-
tary-treasurer Len Berg. Negoti-
ated teachers’ raises in the school
district are under review by the

compensaton stabilization com-
missioner Ed Lien.
