them, and that is exactly what the
North Vancouver District Library

CANNELL FILMS invites the
public to join them today, Friday,
Nov. I7 at the PNE Agrodome to
work as extras in the taping of an
epidsode of Booker.

Extras are required for an up-
coming hockey episode of Booker,
Starring Richard Grieco. Starting
at 2 p.m. the public is welcome to
fill the Agrodome stands.

Prizes will be raffled off
throughout the afternoon and
evening, with the grand prize of a
trip for two to Los Angeles, in-
cluding accomodation.

Every year, as new, current and
in-demand titles are added to the
library’s collection, the shelves
become over-crowded and some-
thing has to go. What goes is
decided by the librarians.

Often ‘‘weeded”’ are books that
have been superseded by newer
editions, or extra copies of novels
that are no longer on the best-seller
lists.

Prices will range from cheap (at

the high end) to mdiculous: adult
hardcover non-fiction books will
be going for $1, fiction and all
children’s books for 50 cents, and
paperbacks and magazines will be
marked at two for 25 cents.

There will be some audiovisual
materials, too, at special prices.

The sale is at the Lynn Valley
Branch at 1280 E. 27th St. (behind
Lynn Valley Centre), and runs
from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
