the depreciation on furniture:
is not great — since it isn’t.
mechanical it doesn’t wear out
all that fast.

BUYING IN THE U.S.A.

If you purchase all your fur-
niture in the U.S., better plan
to leave it there. Bringing it
home probably ‘sn’t worth the
effort.

For example, the duty on a
bedroom suite is 15.9 per cent.
That sum is calculated and
added to the value of the suite

and then 11 per cent federal
sales tax is calculated on the
sum (otal. So we pay sales tax
on duty,

Which means that on a

$1,000 bedroom suite you
would pay roughly $286 duiy.

- Furniture in the U.S. is

Canada but with our money as
it is today, we have to > shop
