These workshops will concentrate on providing stimulating, practical experiences designed to generate personal creativity through new insights, perceptions and skills. Methods of extending one’s form vocabulary and image-making abilities will be demonstrated, sources of effective design investigated and reijiated studio work initiated. Delvina Field is very well known throughout Canada for her distinctive approach to her craft and she will explain how she searched for and finally found her own personal mode of expression. She is acutely aware of the difficulties which beset the comparative beginner as he or she wishes to advance towards commissioned work or exhibitions and is able to offer valuable advice, based on many years of working at a professional level. Instructor: Delvina Field CED227 POTTERY WORKSHOPS This series of five weekend workshops in the Capilano College Lynnmour Centre Pottery will draw upon highly respected professional potters to teach the specific aspects of pottery for which they have become weil known. The workshops will enable potters to expand their craft into these areas and, by demonstrations on and off the wheel, by the use of slides and general discussion, will deal with the processes and problems which the potter will encounter when working. They are intended for practicing potters and advanced poitery students, with the exception of number 4, ‘‘Understanding a Glaze Recipe’’, which is appropriate for anyone interested in glaze formulation. 4.
