many North Shore citizens felt their money was being il spent.

Dorothy Zora, a North Vancouver resident, said she’s con-
cerned that as a taxpayer she will have to pay tor unnecessary legal
aid and welfare bills.

Reynolds said that Canada should adopt similar laws to the
U.S. and Australia where boats are turned back.

“China needs our trade and friendship. We may nor be happy
with their human rights, but we can negotiate with them,”
Reynolds said.

“We're being sold a bill of goods by criminals and it’s really
unfortunate, but if we don’t send them back it sends a message
that others can come and do the same.”
