Brad Ledwidge BRIGHT LIGHTS EST VANCOUVER was given a taste of the Wild West last Friday night as cowboys and cowgirls filled the streets for the Dundarave Hoedown. Beneath a harvest moon, the crowds gathered on Marine Drive for the Dundarave Merchants’ Association’s annual event, now in its ninth year. Entertainment included the C&W sounds of Mary Oban and the Rockollas, square dancing led by Doreen Siltary and line dancing lessons by Dance Expressions on a flat-bed truck. For junior cowpokes, a petting zoo and free pony rides were provided by the Mark Seven Ranch in the Fraser Valley. Western fare included a corn roast hosted by Capers, bratwurst on a bun from Freybe and IGA, candy floss and popcorn.
