The basic, mandatory insurance
covers up to $200,000 but most
B.C. motorists carry at least $1
million. Discuss your personal
needs with a broker because you
could choose a limit up to $15
million.

The next item to check on the
APVi is whether or not you have
Underinsured Motorist Protection.
UMP protects you and family
members in your household up to
the limit of your Third Party
Legal Liability coverage in the
event any of you are injured by a
motorist with insufficient coverage
to pay the claim.

At only $12 for most claim-free
motorists, UMP is a great value.

Just to the left of the UMP sec-
tion is one marked ‘‘Declared
Value,’’ and it should be of par-
ticular interest if you own some-
thing other than a standard car,
Station wagon or commercial
vehicle. If you're insuring a heavy
commercial vehicle, trailer, leisure
van, motorhome, motorcycle, rep-
licar, U-bilt or specialty vehicle,
you can fix its current value in
order to have the needed collision
and comprehensive coverages.
