The North Shore Counselling
Centre’s charity auction will be
held on Friday, March 30 at West
Vancouver Secondary Schoo!, 1750
Mathers St.

Bid on treasures and bargains.
There are items for every income,
from tuxury cruises to the kitchen
sink. Try for a Holland America
Alaska cruise (buy one ticket and
bid on a second), dining with
celebrities, picnicking, a day on a
working tugboat or a working
movie set, board for your pet,
items for the home handyman,
lithographs by Robert Genn,
Robert Bateman and other artists,
wines, dining on the North Shore
and in Vancouver, luxurious
sweaters, Whistler and Blackcomb
experiences, pizzas, cookies, cakes
and collectibles.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and a
casual buffet supper will be served
at 7:15 p.m. There will be a no-
host bar and silent auction, with
the live auction beginning at 8
p.m. Dave Barker has volunteered
his services as auctioneer.

Proceeds from this fundraiser
will be used to subsidize counsell-
ing for low-income people. The
North Shore Counselling Centre,
which is located at 2104 Gordon
Ave. in West Vancouver, is a
non-profit organization which
provides professional, accredited
counselling services to people who
need help in dealing with stress and
change.

These services, provided by pas-
toral counsellors, cover a broad
range of issues, including marital
and family conflict, depression or
anxiety, suicide threats and
bereavement.

The centre is experiencing an
ever-increasing demand for ser-
vices. To help meet this demand, a
field office was recently opened in
North Vancouver. The centre’s
