president of North = Van-
couver-based North
American Institute for Con-
sumer Education (NICE
Inc.) has pulled off what
surely must rank as a coup
in motivational circles.

Dowty, an acclaimed public
speaker in his own right. working
for Colorado-based seminir com-
pany CareerTrack, has been carry-
ing an audacious dream in his head
for a while. The dream scenario
goes something like this: Bring
together under one roof, far one
relatively affordable event. some
of the world's best and brightest
individuals invelved in the business
of motivating others to strive for
excellence.

Said Dowty: “SAug. 17 this year,
[ looked at my wife and said,
‘Why don’t I do it.” And my wife
said, ‘Do it!""

When he set out to pull together
a day-long seminar, everybody said
he couldn’t do it. ‘These kinds of
speakers are basically booked two
to three years in advance. Their
agents just laughed.’ Dowty ex-
plained.
