The laboratory, a joint venture between Simon Fraser and Apple Canada will become an integral part of the University’s Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Executive MBA programs. It will also be used by students in a variety of courses including English, Geography, Education, and Linguistics. The 22- workstation Apple Excellence Laboratory becomes part of an ex- isting network of microcomputer : facilities at Simon Fraser. Saywell described the Apple Ex- cellence laboratory as a major asset for Simon Fraser. “This laboratory provides Simon Fraser students and faculty with some of the most advanced computer technology available. It enables students to become famil- iar with the possibilities offered by new technology,and helps prepare them to function in an automated environment,’’ said Saywell. Rae said that Apple’s participa- tion with Simon Fraser in the Ap- ple Excellence Laboratory is the newest example of Apple’s com- mitment to leadership in educa- tion. . Simon Fraser University is one of 15 leading Canadian universities enrolled in Apple Canada’s Cana- dian University Consortium. The consortium encourages selected Canadian institutions to incor- porate computers into their cur- ricula, .. are as exotic as the names of the destinations. Joanne Kemila Price was awarded the trip by Gold’s Gym in conjunction with Cascade Travel.
