Story and photos by Ellsworth Dickson Two years ago Chris wife Jennifer found a house in the Upper Lonsdale area that was rather plain, but had great potential. As can be seen from the “before” photograph, a second floor was added. In fact, the new house resembles the old one at all. The kitchen and living room were extended and a dining room added. The result is a huge home with four bedrooms, two baths, with plumbing in for a third, a fireplace, a large sandeck out the back, new A Ecc be rr einline ay pe & oy ; Bas, Speke RS Sehr deny HOE: _~_ carpets and more other interesting features. With a room above the kitchen, it would be im- possible to have a skylight and this problem was neatly solved by mounting fluorescent tubes behind rice paper, giving a skylight effect. Another interesting im novation is that the noof of e insulation Califoraia style stucco. The kitchen has been beautifully done in white ;’ with a Jenn- Aire range built into an island. There is also a builtin convection oven acarby. The cupboards have adjustable shelves.
