Children love making a
mess -- and so do some
adults! Paper mache pinatas
are great fun at parties and
making them also means
making a ‘squishy, drippy,
glorious mess. Children can
make. them .with minimal
supervision, but adults may
want to get into the act, too.

Protect.the. floor or rug
with a drop sheet and tape
plastic garbage: ‘bags to your
table-top... Rip ‘lots of old
newspapers. into _inch-wide
‘Strips. ‘Prepare — ‘flour and

water: paste with about -three
“cups of Hour, slowing adding

overlapping each one
slightly. Cover balloon with
at least four layers of
newspaper and paste. Hang
the whole mess up to dry for
about two days ~ longer in
damp weather.

When -completely dry,
puncture and pull out
balloon. Poke a small hole in
the other end. and string
bright wool through. both
holes for hanging. (A loop of
soft wire will help thread it

through.) Fill the pinata with |
