NDP chooses
law student
as candidate

AN ARTICLING law student has
been acclaimed as the New Demo-
cratic Party’s candidate in the
federal riding of North Van-
couver,

Graeme Bowbrick, 26, who lives
in North Vancouver, was picked
the NDP’s candidate at a nomina-
tion meeting on Sunday, Feb. 21.
No other candidates sought the
nomination.

Born and raised in North Van-
couver, Bawbrick received his law
degree from the University of Vic-
toria in April 1992 and is current-
ly articling with the North Van-
couver Jaw firm of Ratcliff and
Company.

He expects to be called to the
bar in May.

Bowbrick, the son of a West
Vancouver clementary school
principal and West Vancouver
elementary school teacher, said he
has worked on NDP campaigns
since he was 17. '
