Like most parties, Canade Day gives us a chance to forget about the country’s woes and celebrate what we have here. At a time when national unity is hanging en by its fingernails, Canada is in bad need of a party. Voices are hoarse from constitu- tional disputes which threaten Canada’s future. The recession just doesn’t want to go away and higher taxes never seem enough to pay for our social programs. But despite our troubles, many would agree with a recent United Nations’ survey which ranked Canada the best place to live in the world. What does Canada have to celehrate?
