But Mayor Mark Sager got the debate back on track by remin- ding everyone of the proprieties usually observed by West Van- couverites. “That kind of outburst doesn’t have a piace in this community,”’ Sager said. Keddy had applied to establish a waterfront site that could be us- ed to load houses on barges for shipping outside West Vancouver. Moving houses is becoming more popular across Canada; it is especially useful in West Van- couver where highly valued pro- perties are being redeveloped. While Keddy assured council that the moving company wouid have liability insurance, Ald. Danylia argued that council should know more about how well West Vancouver's roads would stand up to the weight of the houses. Council finally agreed to Ald. Pat Boname’s suggestions that the matter be referred back to municipal staff to give them and Keddy opportunity to plan a more detailed moving procedure. “It’s a dilemma.
