But then, to Mr. Collins, only a white South African can be un- biased. For the decades that the white minority in South Africa has been in power |Bad smell} jisn’t from tuna” Dear Editor: Sunday morning my wife vpened a can of Starkist tuna to make sandwiches for our afternoon picnic at Lumberman's Arch. Voila! not a thing wrong with it. It smelled good, looked good and tasted great. I can hardly believe a good, hard working man like John Fraser was ‘‘shot down’’ over such a phony issue as “‘bad’’ tuna. : Everyone understands and tolerates Doug Collins in the support of free speech and in patronizing a warped displaced person who was caught and put in barbed wire for too long. But his slant on the tuna affair was a little too hard to port. His old ‘‘chippy’’ laborite feel- ings are coming out in his old age. I believe something smells in the -whole fish packing-political story and it ain’t the tuna. Ray LeBlond North Vancouver they have treated the black people of the country no better than the white Americans treated their black slaves. Mr. Babb wishes to cloud the issues by comparing South Africa with other black nations on the conti- nent and by claiming a black freedom fighter as a com- munist. But then, Mr. Babb is being paid by the South African government (tax- payers) to tell Canadians that the ‘‘white tribe’’ is the best for the country and to not have chaos should keep the blacks under thumb. Chaos and‘world wars would also have been non-existant had the Nazis convinced the world that they were the best for the world and keep the ‘impure races’’ under thumb. I do believe that the end of ‘‘White Power”’ in Soutl. Africa is imimninent. Black youths are willing to die for their human dignity as mil- lions died for -the same reasons during the world wars, Maybe Mr. Collins can arrange an even better un- biased interview with the South African President draperies by S. Why do so many of thern just laugh or shrug their ‘problem’ off as though it were all a big joke? One reason is because where breaking a lifetime habit is concerned, in- telligence doesn't necessarily make it any easier. On the contrary, it becomes even more frustrating for the per- son who thinks they “should” know better. So rather than admit failure they pretend it isn't important and doesn't bother them. “Hypnosis can help anyone who seriously wants to eliminate a bad habit." says Dan Rutley, Director of D. Rutley & Associates. “The hardest part for many people is admitting that they find it difficult to do by themselves and desire help. “In the case of losing weight we are faced with two problems,” says Dan. “The first is a feeling of deprivation and the second a lack of self- discipline. Once the individua! no longer feels deprived, their By John Stokes self-discipline increases. At the same time hypnosis can help them to desire ‘better’ foods, become full more quickly and remain satisfied between meals. !n this way four major goals are achiev- ed: better diel, less calorie in- take, the elimination of snack- ing and a happier thinner per- son.” Being overweight is often the symptom of some other problem such as boredom, stress, anxiety, frustration or depression. "Part of my job,” says Dan, “is to show clients how to get rid of or deal more effectively with these pro- blems.” Smoking is easily dealt with through hypnosis because it is often simply a ‘bad habit. “Many of my clients have tried unsuc- cessfully for years to quit ’ smoking,” says Dan. "But the irritability and discomfort they experience have always pro- ven too great. Hypnosis eliminates these unpleasant side effects and the habit is broken very easily.” Dan's warm, caring per- sonality is undoubtedly one of the main reasons for his com- pany's high success rate. He treats each client as an in- dividual, even is their problem is a common one such as smoking or overeating. “l offer a free consultation to anyone who wishes to speak to me,” says Dan. “That way | get to know them Dan Rutley and they me and any con- cerns or questions about hyp- nosis or my work can be quickly and easily resolved.” If you're having difficulty quitting smoking, losing weight or improving your lifestyte in any way, give Dan Rutley a call..He teaches a simple philosophy: “It's the quality of life that reaily counts."
