Murray Feist led the attack with two goals and as assist, and Don Eh! notched two goals, giving him 21 on the season. For the Crows, Harold Cummings, Dwight Coyle, and Larry Kosterewa were the marksmen. The game winn- ing goal was a shorthanded effort by Eh] on a pass from Jim Tapp. Firefighters played a spirited game to down War- tiors 5-1, relegating the losers to the basement. Butch Lima scored twice for the winners on passes from Eric Virs. John Mach also countered twice for the Firefighters. The Warriors lone goal was scored by Wilf Armstrong off a faceoff. At the end of the game the referees presented Norm Rettie, cap- tain of the Warriors with the Toilet Bowl award for finishing last, two rolls of toilet paper. In an exciting contest for second place, Drillers out- lasted Old Buzzards 3-2. Ray Matheson scored the opening goal midway through the se- cond period on a backhand, then got his own rebound and scored the winner late in the third from an _ impossible angle. Larry Barker scored the other Driller goal in the second on a long shot which slipped in under Keith Major. Buzzards’ first goal was scored when Howie Carty fed a beautiful pass through the defence to Ken Kyler who put the puck into the open side of the net. Carty scored the se- cond Buzzard goal midway through the third period, jamming the puck under Keith Gibson in a wild scram- ble. Drillers missed numerous good scoring chances, twice having 2-on-0 breaks and Missing the net with perhaps too much passing. Both goalies made some _ excep- tional saves to keep the score low. Although he missed the last three games of the season, Ron Brown of the Old Crows won the scoring title with 24 goals and 9 assists for 33 points. Larry Barker of the Drillers had the same number of points but only 17 goals. Penalty leader was Lawrence Miller of the Warriors, who capped off the season with 3 minors, giving ce honors him 36 minutes in total. The top individual goaltender was Keith Gibson of the Drillers with an average of 2.42 goals against per game. In the quarter-final playoffs this weekend, Old Buzzards are pitted against Warriors, and Old Crows Inatched up against Fire- fighters. The North Shore News were the victims this time as the Blackhawks skated to a §-3 win. Scoring for Sight and Sound were Al Dougan, Doug Taylor, Steve Blyth and Russ Barclay with a pair. Mike Schemmer, Stuart Davis and Grant McGinn replied for the News. Things got worse for the News as they lost their second of the week as the Lynnwood Chasers defeated them 4-2. Scott Kerry was a standout for the News in goal but it was not enough as_ the Chasers got goals from Joe Falbo, Dave Sangster and John Scruton, with a pair, to sew up the victory. In other action Japan Camera came from behind to the Westlynn Super Valu at 3-3 with a late goal from Geoff Parky. Blair Mackie scored the other two goals for Japan Camera while Steve Taylor, Tom Thorpe and Norm Morrison replied for Super Valu.
