C9 WV women find a new career By OLGA RUSKIN “It’s like being 18 again. The excitement of starting something new” observes 4l-year-old Jenny Bailey about what acting has done for her. Jenny and 36-year-old Liz Wride, also of West Vancouver, have worked im_ several locally produced movies hoping to make acting their full time career. It is refreshing to encounter enthusiasm such as theirs. Recently as extras (which Means you are seen but not usually heard in a movie) Jenny and Liz appeared in their roles as guests at an outdoor barbecue in “The Babysitter” a made-for-TV movie with Wiliam Shatner and Patty Duke Astin filmed in Deep Cove and shown here at the end of November. Christmas! and in the New Year Bran. who has just joined us They have other credits as well including speaking roles in a stage play. “Acting is what I've always wanted to do and now it's wonderful to be fulfilling my dream,” says Jenny. “For more than a decade,” explains Liz, “my consuming interest has been the moulding of a family unit and the creation of a secure environment. Now with house remodelled and children maturing I can begin a new and exciting penod of my life with the loving support of my fami- ly.” Jenny and Liz, who both have two children, are neighbours in West Van- couver. They enrolled in TV/film workshops” with Canadian director Michael Berry over a year ago. and thats how “Our Bnilhant Careers” began.
