CONTINUED ON PAGE4 Scuba fatality off Whytecliff Park |“—~< by PAT RICH A Richmond woman is missing and presumed drowned after she went scuba diving with ai com- panion at Whytecliff Park in West Van- couver, on Saturday. An RCMP diving team searched in vain Saturday and Sunday for the body of Rosemary Alice Ness, aged 21, of 4111 Francis Road in Richmond. A West Vancouver Police Spokesman says ‘the department received a call for assistance at 12:26 p.m. on Saturday. He said Ness was diying with Trevor Budworth, aged 22, also of Richmond, in or around the underwater park at Whytecliff. . Both were relatively new divers, who are supposed to have recently completed a diving course. ‘They became separated, and he surfaced and called for help,’ the spokesman said. It appears Ness got into some sort of difficulty, the spokesman said, but he added they did not know at what depth or at what time Ness got into trouble. ‘We had the (coastguard) hovercraft and the RCMP notified, and they searched the area.’ CONTINUED ON PAGE4 WEDNESDAY.
