Re: West Vancouver apariment ownership

I can't believe tenants renting an apartment have the
detusion that they are the owners of the building; Uhere-
fore they have the right to state if and when the building
should be sold and how it must be done.

They have no contractual obligations, no down pay-
ment, no overhead, no maintenance or gardening with
which to contend.

But when the real owners decide to do some creative
selling — legally put some authority, responsibility and
“pride of ownership” in the hands of the tenant — how
can I, as a tenant, say “Stop! You need to look after me!"
For heaven's sake, why?

[ live just down the street and consider my stay an
honor and each day a gift. In no way could my meagre
rent (all things being relative) pay for the million-dollar
view and spic-and-span upkeep of this spot! I can only

Having been a property owner for same 20 yeurs, 1
now live the casy life of a tenant: | know both sides of
the fence. However, if 1} have the epporiunity 10 pur:
chase my small corner of the world, [think TH scrape
up... If this is unaffordable, that’s my problem isn't it?

Plan ahead, guys, if you want to own ya gotta save...

So please tenants and other whiners — those who are
buying votes, for example (you know who you ure) —
grow up and look after yourself This is Canada and a
democracy. You can do it.

You realtors (or is it agents or salespeople; ducsa't
matter) are doing a fine job of stuyin’ cool.

- And tell me one thing, fellow tenants: You can give
30) days notice to vacate, but the landlord gives you four
months and you whine? How can that be?

13-year-old son was able to get him
on to his feet, but it was clear that

they would be unable to continue.
Fortunately, a woman leaving the
Parkgate condos, seeing their
predicament, stopped: to help. She
assisted my father into her car,
drove him and my-son to my home
(my husband and [ were both out),
picked up my mother and drove all
three to Lions Gate Hospital where
my father underwent hip replace-
ment s 'tgery that same afternoon.
My inother and father both asked

the name of the kind person who
went so far our of her way on the
day. before Christmas. She wouldn't
tel] them. “I don’t need any thanks,”
she told them. ;
Whoever you are, thank you so
very much. You embody not only
the spirit of Christmas but alsy ‘the
kind : of neighborliness we're so
picased to have here.
