Grads take flight, show work

College’s fashion design and tech-
nology program arc taking flight.
And to celebrate the successful
completion of studies, the 28 grad-
uating students will show their
designs at the annual “Seasons
West” fashion show, held this year
at the college’s new Centre for
Applied. Design Studies at the

the campus atrium from Wednes-
‘day, May 4 to Friday, May 6.

This’ popular event,..which
attracts more than 1, 200 people
. annually,: is this year part of the

centre’s first-ever multi-discipli-
“nary Graduate Gala Celebration,
Tee Flight. ”

' The centre is being transformed

into a colorful international market
for the celebration. Eighty gradu-
ates from the centre’s six programs
— foundations in applied design,
architectural drafting, graphics and
visual design, fashion design and
technology, interior design, and
journalism and public relations —
will display their work throughout
the marketplace.

who.has coordinated fashion shows
for Kwantlen for the past three

‘years, will choreograph models

from.John Casablancas Modeling
and Fashion Career College.

The. Blanche MacDonald
Institute provides makeup artistry,
with hair styling by the Richmond
School of Hairdressing. The set,
stage, lights and music are provid-
ed by Paradise Entertainment.

Apparel industry representa-
tives, high-school students from
across the province who are inter-
ested in the fashion industry, par-
ents and friends of graduates, col-
lege employees and people from
the community :all look forward to
this annual event.

Guests can enjoy entertainment,
music, door prizes, and a silent
auction in addition to the Seasons
West fashion shows. Food and
wine will be served at the
Thursday, May 5 gala evening cel-
ebration.

Some tickets are still available
for shows on May 4, 5, and 6 at 7
p.m. The May 5 daytime show is
already sold out.
